Community Need, Local Solution

The College of Law was established to provide quality legal education, focused on experiential learning and community partnerships, especially in the service of northeast Florida, and beyond.

Located in the VyStar Tower, our students are positioned amid a vibrant downtown. The College of Law is a 10-minute walk from the Duval County Courthouse, where our students can observe courtroom proceedings and make use of the courthouse's extensive legal library.

Our community extends beyond the Jacksonville city limits; it is wherever our students and graduates reside. The Jacksonville University College of Law aims to educate future lawyers, lawmakers, and leaders by providing the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed and make a difference in their communities. To make this more accessible, all of our J.D. students are eligible for competitive scholarship levels. Currently, 100% of our admitted students have received a merit scholarship.

A Community-Centered Education

"I would tell a prospective student to definitely consider the JU College of Law, not only because of the close proximity to the state and federal courthouses...but the legal community here in Jacksonville is really special."

Student Testimonial - Alex Wicks

The Jacksonville University College of Law has been really great at demonstrating all the pro bono work that takes place, not only here in Jacksonville, but across the country. We recently had the law firm Cravath come in and speak with us about their huge pro bono fund and we've had a whole panel of pro bono attorneys come and speak with us and all the work they do and put into the community was really eye opening. I would tell a perspective student to definitely consider joining the JU College of Law, not only just the close proximity to the state and federal courthouses, which alone are a ton of resources for any student, but the legal community here in Jacksonville is really special. A lot of the attorneys want to see us succeed, and they sacrificed their own time to help us succeed, so I don't think you'll find the legal community like that anywhere else in the country.
